A Drifting Cowboys were a backing class action for music legend Hank Williams. A band went across many lineups in the period of William's career, & living members of the class action prove my point to tour & produce public appearances to this day. 1 modern day version of a class action, the backing band for William's girl Jett Williams, is lead by original Drifting Cowboys steel guitarist Don Helms; another version of the class action called "Hank's Drifters" features original Drifting Cowboys members Clent Holmes and Pee Wee Moultrie. Moultrie, Holmes & Helms mass produced several appearances sustaining previous Drifting Cowboys bassist Herbert "Lum" York until York's death in 2004. previous Drifting Cowboys lead guitar player Joe Pennington later became a pioneering Rockabilly artist & continues to tour and record each Country Music and Gospel Music. A second previous Drifting Cowboy Hillous Butrum later became a successful record producer & pioneer in the field of music cd.
